8/4/2023 0 Comments Relax now silver springsThe next room we stayed in, the shower sprayed the ceiling, walls everywhere but where you were eat shower if I had been a spider on the ceiling. The first room bathroom sink wouldn't drain.so tried to get it to work and some black junk came out of drain hole into sink. but manager put us in there next day.in other words there was a room with queen bed's.they did locate another 25" tv for the other room for our 2nd night. Called desk, and they said I would have to speak to manager in morning.was all they had. I booked a room which was suppose to have 2 queen beds and an 25" tv.got there to room, had double beds, and a/c filter was so dirty when I turned it on.had to clean filter before I could use it. I ended up doing a charge-back on my credit card.… The owner told me that their parrot didn't like a/c. I walked to the office to cool off, but there was no a/c in there, either. By that time, I was drenched in sweat, as the room was still jungle hot. All could do for me was refund the couple of bucks difference between their price and the walk-in price, like THAT was a major issue. I immediately called to complain about the unacceptable room conditions and $10 charge to leave. I was offered a refund, minus ten dollars. When the temp didn't improve, I knew we couldn't stay there. The room was very hot, the a/c was turned on only when we arrived. The room was dark and shabby, but the grossest thing was a brown glob on a towel, that smeared, when removed. My iPhone could not recognize their promised wifi. In reality, there was no working pool, nor has there been one for four years or more. I should've paid more attention to the dismal reviews. We were quoted a price several dollars cheaper than quoted by. When we arrived at the office, we asked the price for a night at Relax Inn. I booked this motel on through Trip Advisor. Only positive there was that staff was very polite.… I'm pretty sure that I left my license at the front desk, but when I called the person who answered said it wasn't there. Even with the street sweeper waking me up around 3:30 am, and the cold weather, I slept much better, though my sleeping bag and pillow still reeked like the hotel. Instead of a second night, I slept in the back seat of my truck at Publix. Around 12 am, I was wishing it would hurry up and happen, so the stink headache would go away. As a small female, traveling solo, you tend to be paranoid sometimes. I assume it was an utility closet, but all I could think of, all night, was some creepy clown murderer would be popping out and standing over me at 2 am with a knife. There was also an odd, locked door inside my room that I couldn't access, in the hallway next to the bathroom. I would immediately wake up if it came unwrapped because of the smell. I spread the bag over the bed so I wouldn't accidentally touch the comforter if I rolled, and slept with the sheet tucked in around my head to cut down on the smell. I didn't dare turn on the air, because I was afraid it'd just stir it up more.think mothballs and wet socks to the point that it's all you can taste. I was genuinely tempted to sleep with the door open, but there were weird people wandering around outside. Thank goodness I had brought air freshener, but that only covered the smell for 15 minutes or so at a time. I only brought in my sleeping bag, a sheet, a hat, and a sweater for fear of contamination and am so glad that I did. Big screen on the wall, but no fridge or microwave so I didn't get to eat, nor did I want to after 2 minutes inside. The room was tiled and the floor looked clean. The AC was not on so the stench was palpable on entrance. I once had a better night's sleep, and less stink, sitting up in a Port o Potty (no joke). I have slept in some rough places over the years, between the military and working in the field. I should have checked the room first before I took it though. Room key didn't work the first time, but I quickly got one that did. The people running it were very nice and helpful, but according to online price listings, I think I was taken advantage of. On the phone, I was quoted $75 (or so I thought). Busy festival weekend at Silver Spring (knap-in).
